About Judge Jon Fredrickson

Judge Jon Fredrickson and Family

Jon Fredrickson has served as a Racine County Circuit Court Judge since 2018 and has presided over thousands of cases with fairness and integrity. In his time on the bench, he established a reputation for being a fair, impartial, and respectful judge, who applies the laws as written.

He currently serves in felony court, where he handles some of Racine’s toughest criminal cases, protecting our citizens from violent offenders, while ensuring both victims and the accused get their day in court. His experience as a judge is well-rounded, having also presided in family, civil, probate, and misdemeanor courts.

Before taking the bench, Jon spent nearly 20 years in private practice, specializing in litigation and appeals of high-exposure business, insurance coverage, product liability, conspiracy, real estate, and legal malpractice cases in state and federal courts. When their businesses or livelihoods were on the line, some of the nation’s largest corporations, as well as the families and citizens of our communities, turned to Jon to make their case. He has argued in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He also has taught continuing legal education courses on insurance coverage and evidence, helping other lawyers improve their skills.

Jon grew up in Mequon, where his parents instilled in him and his younger brother the values that he brings to the courthouse each day – work hard, be fair, and treat everyone with dignity and respect. He and his wife, Sarah, a Racine native, were married in 2007. After their two children were born, they chose Racine County as the community in which to raise their family.

Jon holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and graduated with honors from Marquette University law school in 1999.

Jon has been honored to serve as a Racine County Circuit Court Judge for the past six years and would be honored to continue to do so … to serve the citizens and communities that he and his family call home.
